The conference was opened by Dr. Marc Kaddoura, CEO, IBS Holding GMBH where he successfully explained and demonstrated why research, development, and engineering are among high priorities for the Group. According to him, IBS invests about 5 percent of its turnover on R&D with its 100 engineers constantly working towards the maximization of quality and reliability of IBS products. The Group has almost 20 patents in its name. IBS system solutions are targeted at industries such as pulp and paper, tissue, and nonwoven.

The presentations covered the latest technology in dewatering, by means of flexible dewatering elements, called the iTable. This technology has already realised a break-through in papermaking with a great influence to paper quality, runnability and performance. Similar technology was presented to improve the performance of the press section with the iPress-technology combining several single products to form a control loop. The participants showed great interest in this technology.
Dr. Marc Kaddoura expressed the importance of the Indian pulp and paper industry and said that he intends to be a partner in paper machine optimization for the industry in India. “We distinguish ourselves from other companies in respect that our technology is built on the value of creating value for our customers. IBS is helping the producers in decreasing their production costs and increasing the product quality at the same time,” said he.
