Paswara Papers Commissions Its Greenfield Multi-layer Kraft Paper Facility

Rs. 275 cr plant is about to begin the commercial production with trial runs undertaken in April 2016

Paswara Papers Ltd. has established a new Greenfield project to manufacture 1,25,000 tonne multi-layer kraft paper per annum in Meerut with capital Investment of about Rs. 275 crore. The total land Area of the Greenfield project is approx 60,000 sq m, located at Mohiuddinpur (Meerut) on Delhi-Haridwar road. Paswara Papers has already been running its old manufacturing facility producing approx 100 tonne of kraft paper and board for the last over 30 Years.
Successful trial runs of the state-of-the-art project have been undertaken in April 2016 and the commercial production will commence soon. The new facility is equipped with latest, fully automated machineries. Most of the equipments, viz. cast iron dryers, calendar machine, steam condensate system, slitter rewinder (width: 5200 mm), vacuum pumps, press rolls, pressurized head box for triple layer “multi layer kraft paper”, poly disc filters (3 nos. of 200 cubic meter per hour capacity to optimize fiber recovery) have been installed. All these equipments have been imported from the best manufacturers in China.


There is also a complete pulp section, which has been purchased from Samarth Machinery, Aurangabad. A 6 MW captive power plant has also been installed. While Cheema Boilers Ltd. has provided the steam boiler with capacity of 40 ton per hour and pressure of 67 Kg., a 6 MW turbine has been procured from Triveni Turbine Ltd.


All electric motors have been directly purchased from Siemens India Ltd., Mumbai. Variable frequency drives (VFDs) have been installed by of ABB Ltd., and the automation of electrical equipments was undertaken by Tycon Automation Pvt. Ltd. The Unit has installed a most modern and efficient effluent treatment plant (ETP) for treating the effluent as per prescribed norms and recycling most of the effluents to achieve near-to-zero liquid discharge. The end product, viz. white top coated multi layer kraft paper has enormous demand in the market. The deckle size of the machine is 5200 mm and trim deckle is 4950 mm.
