Sabarmati Papers Pvt Ltd is putting up a 300 TPD packaging grade plant near Bavla which is 45 KM from Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The product range will include kraft liner, kraft liner with white top, duplex board, folding box board etc with focus on lower grammage products in the range of 180 to 320 GSM. The waste paper based project is being setup with a total investment of about Rs. 300 crores (approximately USD 65 million). Project is being executed under technical know-how from a Canadian company and is expected to start commercial production in April, 2013.
Paper machine equipments are ordered to various companies in Finland, Germany and France. While the stock preparation and finishing equipments are yet to be finalized. The 4 meter wide machine with 3.8 meter deckle size will produce paper/paperboard at 650 mpm. The 4-wire machine will have press section, dryers and film press for coating. They are also planning to put up a 5 MW co-generation facility. The company already runs a 75 TPD duplex board machine.
