CMPC Tissue, Latin America’s second largest tissue paper manufacturer, acquired from Voith Paper in early May a 5.6m width machine to manufacture tissue paper at it’s Absormex subsidiary plant in Altamira, Mexico. The goal is to increase production capacity to meet the growing demand for their products in the Mexico market. The design speed of this new machine will be 2000m/min, with a 220 t drying capacity per day. The start up is scheduled for the second half of 2010.
Voith Paper’s supply includes: the approach flow, the Masterjet II T headbox, a Cresent Former, the press and drying section with a Voith Air System hood and a ripped Yankee cylinder, the erection as well as the start up and commissioning services, in addition to the engineering required for the project. Voith paper will also be responsible for the supply of the electrical and mechanical packages, including erection and commissioning of all equipment necessary for the machine to operate, by means of the PLP (Process Line Package) concept.
