In a recent interaction with Paper Mart magazine, Mr. Navneet Singh Kaushal, Director, Balaji Chem Solutions, shared about his company’s history, journey, products offered, and vision and future plans of the company.
Paper Mart: Please tell us about your company’s journey, major milestones, and crucial achievements.
Navneet Singh Kaushal: Balaji Chem Solutions carries an illustrious seasoning of a quarter of a century in providing a slew of solutions and remedies to the challenges facing the paper and chemical industry by using innovative assessment methods and creating bespoke solutions. We established an AKD plant in 2011 using state-of-the-art technology; and a 3rd generation technology polymer plant in 2020. In the meanwhile, by 2019 we had established an in-house all fully automated chemicals and dosing equipment for all pulp and paper mill applications. Apart from that, until now, we have completed over 150 projects successfully, and have been bestowed with 12 awards for exhibiting excellence in our realm. We have been following a vision of attaining perfection in affording quality products and services.
PM: Kindly tell us about your product portfolio and its application areas.
NSK: We offer a myriad of solutions and products such as dry and wet strength resin, internal and surface sizing agents, enzymes, retention and drainage chemicals, paper machine defoamer and de-aeration, and surface additives. We also provide modified starches for different applications such as machine cleaning and conditioning programs (felt, wire, vacuum pump, boil-out chemicals, etc.). Additionally, we offer coagulants and flocculants for ETP plants. Our major clients are the paper, chemical, and water treatment sectors.

PM: Elaborate about your manufacturing facilities and manufacturing capabilities.
NSK: Currently, we have three facilities: a 2000 MT AKD emulsion facility, a 500 MT polymers manufacturing facility that was deployed in 2020, and a modern well-equipped R&D lab with a comprehensive testing facility that was established in 2019.
PM: What are the industries catered to by Balaji Chem Solutions and what is your market footprint?
NSK: We are providing services primarily to paper, chemical, and water treatment organizations even though the clientele is not limited to these. Up till now, our organization boasts of completing over 150 projects successfully and our dedication to rendering tailor-made solutions is reflected in our performance and growth pattern.
PM: What is your USP? What keeps you ahead of your competition?
NSK: Our USP is total chemical management (TCM ) under one roof with tailor-made solutions along with all preparation and dosing equipment. We always try to help customers to urge profit by using the best raw materials, minimizing costs in operation, and handling the whole process perfectly.
We have an eye for detail, and critical thinking along with a pragmatic approach to assess the circumstances of every client as a distinct case rather than just as another clientele type, which has helped us place ourselves leagues ahead of our rivals in the contemporary market. Apart from that, the expertise poured into every endeavor is an outcome of extensive consultations with industry experts in India and abroad, helping us connect better with clients and their requirements. Our forte is following stringent R&D parameters in our up-to-date R&D lab that has cutting-edge recruitment, helping us to exhaustively test everything: from raw material to finished goods. Over the years, we have followed a simple convention of constantly upgrading our expertise, raw material sourcing, and material manufacturing. We evaluate the quality of raw materials received through globally valid stringent quality assurance processes, monitor the production procedure strictly, and embrace an uncompromising approach when it comes to testing the manufactured components and material.
