Bellmer hosted successful Nordic Paper Days 2024 in Finland, showcasing innovation and collaboration in paper technology on November 4th and 5th, 2024.

Bellmer India
The Indian Bellmer specialists for paper technology are located in Kolkata and Kalyani. In addition to sales and services for this business area, final assembly and quality control for calenders has been established here. The Indo-German joint venture company was conceived keeping in mind the expected growth of pulp and paper machines in India and the growing demands for modern calenders with corresponding services.
Bellmer TurboCalender is a high-end unit providing best smoothness, caliper, and bulk on paper machine – ensuring final assembly and quality control for “Made in India” calenders that has been established at Bellmer India in Kolkata.
Nordic Paper Days
On November 4th and 5th, 2024, Bellmer hosted the Nordic Paper Days technology seminar in Finland. More than 130 participants gathered together to share ideas and to listen to experiences of Bellmer ́s latest deliveries and product development. Visitors represented 20 nations from Brazil and USA to Korea, China, India and Thailand not forgetting European customers. The Bellmer owner family, represented by Presidents Erich and Martin Kollmar alongside Donata, Klaus-Ulrich, and Fridolin from the next generation, attended and actively engaged in the seminar. Managing Director of Bellmer Finland Oy, Jyrki Strengell chaired the event.
After a warm get-together, Nordic Paper Days were started by an excursion to Bellmer Finland workshop in Hollola near Lahti. Vice President Operations Tommi Karevaara and other Bellmer hosts were proud to show several headboxes, top-formers, suction rolls, pulpers and pressure screens in the preassembly phase. “Wow, I could never ever have imagined that Bellmer is this big in Finland and you have such a great machining capacity with modern equipment”, mentioned John Lindahl who is chairman of board of directors at Banmark. “Your manufacturing quality is excellent and surface smoothness is magnificent”, stated Amit Gupta, Managing Director of Dev Priya Industries from India.

Scope
Nordic Paper Days lectures were divided into two sessions covering major industry topics: the first day focused on modern, cost-effective paper and board production, while the second day addressed energy and resource savings for a sustainable bio-economy. Industry experts, including Iris Ollila from Vision Hunters and Marko Summanen from ResourceWise, shared insights into current market trends and outlooks.
The importance of the fast growing Asian market could be seen and heard in presentations of Korean Asia Paper and two Indian sessions highlighting recent projects at Emami Papers and Dev Priya.
On the other hand, speakers from Austrian Norske Skog Bruck Mr. Enzo Zadra and Mr. Klaus Eibl showed how the future of the Austrian paper mill could be secured by converting the production from printing coated paper to linerboard. Bellmer’s own team showed great commitment by covering a big portion of the lectures. In total 20 speakers showed up on the stage
The next Bellmer Paper Days will be held in 2026, promising another valuable opportunity for the industry to collaborate and innovate together.
