Brahmputra Paper Pvt Ltd is setting up North East’s first kraft paper plant having captive power generation facility & 0% discharge environment friendly production line. Located in Tezpur, District Sonitpur in Assam, the 50 TPD kraft paper plant is based on indigenous and imported waste paper. Setup with a total investment of Rupees 17 crores the plant will produce kraft paper from 80 GSM to 200 GSM with BF ranging from 13 to 22. Commercial production started on 2nd May 2009. The paper machine is 2.3 meter wide with 14′ diameter MG and is capable of producing at a speed of 60 to 150 mpm. A 10 ton capacity high pressure boiler, 400KW turbine & 365 KVA DG set, water treatment plant & DM plant are also installed.
