David Nelson Appointed As Interim Head of Valmet’s North American Business

David will assume this interim role in addition to his current responsibilities as Vice President of sales and Marketing, North America, Valmet. He will focus on keeping the North American business and organization in full progress, as well as leading the work in the North American management team.

Mr. David Nelson, Vice President, Sale has been appointed as interim Head of Valmet’s North American business.

Mr. David Nelson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, North America, Valmet, has been appointed as interim Head of Valmet’s North American business, succeeding Mr. Jukka Tiitinen as of January 1, 2025. 

David will assume this interim role in addition to his current responsibilities and focus on keeping the North American business and organization in full progress, as well as leading the work in the North American management team.

He brings over 35 years of expertise in pulp, paper, and related industries, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic impact. Prior to his current role, he led Valmet’s Services Sales Team in North America, and was the Director of Sales, US North, from 2008 to 2020. 

Earlier in his career, David held various leadership, sales, and engineering positions across Valmet, Metso, and Beloit Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management.

In this interim role, David will report to Valmet President and CEO Thomas Hinnerskov.
