Company Spokesperson: For many years, Horst Sprenger Gmbh and Clouth Sprenger GmbH have been supplying rod metering system consumables and thermal coated blades for coating and creping applications in the worldwide paper and board industry. Today, they are one of the leading manufacturers and have references for most types of equipment and applications. Advanced, specialty designs are offered by both companies. Horst Sprenger GmbH also offers special machine components with superior performance over standard designs in the field of rod coaters and film-presses. Galeno, the new creping blade holder concept, offers better Yankee protection due to minimized vibrations, and complements the product portfolio of Clouth Sprenger GmbH.

CS: Horst Sprenger GmbH scope of products include hard chrome plated metering rods for rod coater and film-press application, ceramic coated metering rods for rod coater & film-press application, tungsten carbide coated rods for rod coater & film-press application, conventional PU and PE rod beds state-of-the-art upgraded rod holder concept “COMBI-System”, rod metering system accessories e.g. sealing blades, edge wiper etc. and the special developments for rod coaters & film-presses e.g. rod drive, edge wiper etc.
Clouth Sprenger Gmbh scope of products include ceramic & cermet coated blades for coating application, ceramic & cermet coated blades for creping application, and vibration measurement systems (V-Guard) for creping blade holders
PM: Are there any new developments at your company’s end?
CS: The advanced rod holder “COMBI-System” enables significant cost saving and reduces assembly time. The modified edge wiper “Gentle Wipe” results in most efficient cleaning of press roll edges in film-presses. We recently introduced tungsten carbide rods that provide the highest wear resistance.
Our research focus is on constant optimization on wear coat characteristics to fit individual process demands. The enhanced coating blade design reduces micro-lines and streaks. Also, the upgraded V-Guard hardware and software has been developed to improve intuitive online vibration monitoring. There is a newly developed creping blade holder “GALENO” designed to minimize chatter marks on Yankee-cylinder.
PM: What are your plans for the Indian Market?
CS: Horst Sprenger Gmbh and Clouth Sprenger Gmbh have identified the Indian market as a focal point for future business activities. Their customers benefit directly from the manufacturer by short response times, direct communication of customers’ demand, and optimal technical support.
