International Paper Appoints Andy Silvernail as the Chairman of Board of Directors

Andy Silvernail took charge as the Chairman of the International Paper Board of Directors, following the retirement of Mr. Mark Sutton. Mr. Silvernail has been given the charge in addition to his current role as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

International Paper has appointed Mr. Andy Silvernail as the Chairman of the International Paper Board of Directors. Mr. Silvernail has been given the charge in addition to his current role as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.   He took charge following the retirement of Mr. Mark Sutton on September 30, 2024.

Mr. Silvernail joined International Paper as CEO in May 2024. He has two decades of experience leading global companies in the manufacturing and technology sectors. He previously worked at KKR & Company Inc., a global investment firm, where he served as an executive advisor. He also held the role of Chairman and CEO of Madison Industries, one of the world’s largest privately held companies.

Prior to that, Mr. Silvernail served as Chairman and CEO of IDEX Corporation from 2011 to 2020. He also held executive positions at Rexnord Industries, Newell Rubbermaid and Danaher Corporation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Stryker Corporation.
