International Paper announced the grand opening of its Atglen, US-based, new state-of-the-art corrugated packaging facility.

International Paper (IP) announced the grand opening of the newest state-of-the-art corrugated packaging facility in Atglen, US. The new USD 100 million facility will produce corrugated packaging for produce, processed food, beverage, shipping, distribution, and e-commerce customers.
The project completion was a collaborative effort between IP and local, county, and state community partners. The location was selected based on its access to a skilled workforce, multi-mode transportation capabilities, and easy distribution access to strategic markets. The new facility is providing more than 100 manufacturing jobs to Atglen and the surrounding communities.

The grand opening included a friends and family day, where employees and their loved ones toured the brand-new facility.
Mr. Thomas Hamic, Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of International Paper, said, “Our corrugated packaging business is an important part of International Paper. This strategic investment will add local jobs and help us better serve our customers.”
Mr. Darrin Hinds, Regional General Manager of International Paper, added, “After months of hard work, it is exciting to see construction complete with machines running. At Atlgen, we are helping to create what’s next by making fiber-based sustainable products our customers value.”
