The converted PM 10 is expected to come online in 2017

Canada’s Kruger Inc will invest some CAD 250m to modernise and convert the PM 10 newsprint machine at the Trois-Rivières mill to recycled containerboard production. The converted PM 10 is expected to come online in 2017, offering a production capacity of 360,000 tpy of lighweight recycled linerboard, the company announced.
Kruger will get some CAD 190m in financial support for the conversion project from the Government of Quebec. This includes a CAD 84m loan and 25 percent participation, worth CAD 106m, through Investissement Québec in a new company that will combine Kruger’s Containerboard and Packaging business.
According to Kruger, PM 10 will continue producing newsprint until two months before the end of the conversion project.
