McLaren Packaging, VPK Group JV Eyes Scottish Corrugated Market

The new 50/50 joint venture business will be called McLaren Corrugate Limited. It will be formed through the combination of McLaren Packaging’s corrugate production facility in Port Glasgow and VPK’s site in East Kilbride.

Leading Scottish suppliers of specialist paper and cardboard packaging, McLaren Packaging Limited, have entered into partnership with VPK Packaging UK & Ireland, part of the family-owned Belgian VPK Group, a leading European packaging group, to serve the Scottish corrugated market.

The new 50/50 joint venture business will be called McLaren Corrugate Limited. It will be formed through the combination of McLaren Packaging’s corrugate production facility in Port Glasgow and VPK’s site in East Kilbride.

 Watch: In Pursuit of Lesser Water Footprint 

As per McLaren Packaging, it will have operational management control of the new business. Its other businesses will remain unaffected by this change.

Mr. Donald McLaren, Managing Director of McLaren Packaging, said, “We are delighted to establish a new joint venture focused on corrugated packaging with VPK’s East Kilbride site.

Tremendous opportunities exist between our East Kilbride site, which will enter the joint venture, and McLaren Packaging. The new business will be under operational control of and overseen by a leadership team from McLaren, giving it the local support and focus it needs.”
