Despite concerns about slowing global economic growth, the Tissue World Asia 2008 conference and exhibition was very successfully held during 19-21 November at the INTEX Shanghai exhibition centre in Shanghai, China.
The event attracted a total of 2,773 registered visitors who came to learn about the latest technologies and developments available in the Asian marketplace. The attendance was somewhat lower compared to 2006, but overall the event was seen as a success, with visitors from 72 countries in attendance.
As a sign of the satisfaction with Tissue World Asia 2008, the general feedback from exhibitors was that they had a good show even though the number of visitors was somewhat lower than the last show. Most commented that they felt the quality of the visitors was at a high level, with many of the key people that they wanted to see coming to the show. The exhibition covered a total area of 6000 gross square meters and included 103 leading supplier companies to the tissue producing and tissue converting industries.
In addition to the exhibition, the one and a half day English/Chinese technical conference was also a success, drawing a crowd of over 160 delegates. The conference was held in the Intex Centre for the first time, allowing easier access for delegates, which was appreciated by all.
