Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. has decided on capital investment of approximately EUR 5 million for mass production of SHIELDPLUS®, which adds barrier properties to paper, at Jujo Thermal Oy, Nippon Paper Group Company.
Jujo Thermal Oy. has been developing “SHIELDPLUS®” embedded with oxygen and flavor barrier properties and has already entered the market evaluation stage. With this capital investment, the Company aims to start full-scale production in Europe.
The SHIELDPLUS® series attracts attention in Japan and overseas as one of the Company’s paperising solutions. The Company is committed to making the SHIELDPLUS® series penetrate the European market with high environmental awareness.
Nippon Paper Industries had commenced studies toward production of the SHIELDPLUS® series of paper-based materials with barrier properties.
