The company said in its 2025 financial statements that the company is streamlining its Wisconsin manufacturing strategy by right-sizing the Mosinee site. This includes closing the pulp mill and two older paper machines this year, while upgrading the two remaining paper machines with advanced technologies and automation. In addition, Ahlstrom has also announced the initiation of a formal consultation process concerning the potential closure of the Radcliffe (UK) site. A decision will be taken pending the outcome of the consultation.

The Mosinee mill produces specialty paper grades, including building and construction materials, food packaging, and tape. The closing will involve cessation of all operations and termination of the identified areas. Over 20 permanent employees and a significant number of hourly-wage based workers working in the mill will be affected by the closure.
