“The biggest problem the industry faces is the acute shortage of wood leading to imports of large quantities of logs and chips from other countries, which increases the cost of pulp tremendously… . As a byproduct the farmers are getting good value for the produce resulting in huge demands for Eucalyptus, Subabul and Casuarina clones and seedlings from the farming community. With this the availability of wood from indigenous sources should start improving gradually from 2016 end.”
