JK Paper has collaborated with Valmet to drive modernization and demonstrate operational excellence at its Songadh mill.

The project covered every key process area — from fiberline and lime kiln systems to a new coated board machine (BM 5) equipped with dual shoe presses, a smoothing press, and curtain coating technology, one OptiCoat Layer curtain station and three OptiCoat Roll blade coaters. Comprehensive automation with Valmet DNA, including QCS and Web Monitoring System, helped enhance runnability and product quality.

The results include 428 t/day continuous fiberline performance, 220 t/day lime kiln capacity using multiple fuels, and a reduction of up to 800 t/day in freshwater use. A long-term service agreement continues to support stable,efficient operations.
