Sabah Forest Industries (SFI) is exploring a potential collaboration with China’s Liansheng Pulp and Paper to strengthen its position in the pulp and paper industry. During a recent delegation visit to China, Lau Ki Wai, the Economic Development Advisor to Datuk Hendrus Anding, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, initiated discussions to establish a mutually beneficial partnership.

Recognizing Sabah’s vast land resources and the growth potential of its paper industry, the advisor explored avenues for cooperation, aiming to leverage Liansheng’s expertise in advanced paper manufacturing. The delegation was welcomed by Zhang Liedong, Deputy General Manager of Liansheng Pulp and Paper, alongside key representatives from Liansheng Forestry Company, including Director Zhu Fuqing, Deputy General Manager Zhu Fuquan, and Manager Lin Chunxing.
