Norske Skog, leading producer of publication paper in European markets, has entered into an agreement with Boyer Capital Proprietary Limited to sell its Boyer mill at an enterprise value of approximately USD 17.07 million (NOK 190 million). The transaction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2025.

The Norske Skog Boyer mill is situated in Tasmania, Australia, and has a production capacity of 1,50,000 tonnes of newsprint & 1,35,000 tonnes of LWC magazine paper. The site has a total area of 565 hectares, offering significant opportunities for future developments, and good access to raw materials and logistics infrastructure. The mill has approximately 300 skilled and experienced employees.
The transaction is a sale of 100 percent of the share capital in Norske Skog Industries Australia Limited, the holding company for all of Norske Skog’s Australasian activities. Completion of the sale is expected to occur during the first quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.

Following the sale, Norske Skog will have four mills, all situated in Europe, with a total combined capacity of 7,60,000 tonnes of containerboard, 8,40,000 tonnes of newsprint, 2,00,000 tonnes of SC magazine paper and 2,65,000 tonnes of LWC magazine paper.
