Being manufactured for the first time in India, Parason’s 12-meter SharpEdge is a high-capacity drum pulper. It comes with a maintenance-free girth gear drive and uses the replaceable refiner plate bars with Parason ERP for slushing the pulp.

Parason Machinery has delivered a SharpEdge Drum Pulper which is 12 meters wide and has a diameter of 4.5 meters and is specifically designed for a 500 TPD newsprint paper mill. The drum pulper has been supplied to Krishna Prabhas Papers Pvt. Ltd. at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
As informed to Paper Mart, Mr. Madhure Desarda, Director, Parason Machinery Pvt. Ltd. said that the SharpEdge Drum Pulper is known for its low maintenance cost and reduced power consumption.
Parason’s SharpEdge Drum Pulper is developed for efficient pulping of stock consistencies up to 15–18 percent and for gentle and effective separation of fibers and contaminants. The drum uses the concept of a washing machine for its working. The HiTech Bar Knives Metallurgy has been adopted to design the drum. It is a superb combination of being energy-efficient and cost-effective in the refining process. The Drum Pulper consists of two zones — Slushing Zone and Screening Zone. The newly developed drum is suitable for writing & printing, newsprint and kraft paper.
