Smurfit Kappa, an Italian corrugated packaging specialist, has sold its operations in Russia to a local management. The company owned 1 bag-in-box facility and 2 corrugated plants in St Petersburg, and 1 corrugated plant in Moscow.
The Russian exit of the company can be traced back to April 2022, when it announced to suspend support for its Russia-based operations following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
