As part of the recent Law on Environmental Protection, the Vietnamese Government is getting tougher on regulating imports – specifically recyclable materials.

According to the media reports, Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment has written to the country’s provinces and cities ordering them to audit companies that are using imported recyclable materials.
Due to this letter, the country’s provinces and cities must now report to the Ministry the companies that are importing materials and how they are using imported recyclable materials in production.

The provinces and cities must prepare reports on how they will manage this process and provide it to the Ministry by 1 March.
