Burgo Group has ordered a rebuild of the press section of its paper machine PM2 at the Avezzano mill, Italy to ANDRITZ. The startup of the PM2, which is a test liner/white top liner machine, is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2023. The new press section will have a design speed of 1,200 m/min and a width of 5.32 m at the pope reel.
The rebuild is targeted at significantly enhancing the dryness content after the press along with saving energy and improving other paper properties. The rebuilt press section will enable the Burgo Group to achieve a reduction in steam and specific energy consumption, while also resulting in the reduction of the carbon footprint.
