Nandi Papers To Set Up 90,000 TPA Kraft Paper Mill in Chennai

Nandi Papers is developing a 90,000 TPA mill in Chennai. The project is currently in development and is scheduled for commercial production by April 2028.

Nandi Papers is developing a state-of-the art kraft paper mill in Chennai. The project is currently in development and is scheduled for commercial production by April 2028. 

The upcoming facility will focus on the production of high-BF kraft paper and value added products, with an installed capacity of 90,000 TPA. The 3920 mm wide reel will have a weight basis of 80-300 g/m3. The mill will also consist of modern machinery, advanced automation systems, and energy efficient technology for sustainable production.

The key machineries include OCC line, approach flow system and white top line from ANDRITZ-International Technology Group, headbox system from ST Machine S.p.A, steam & condensate system from Kadant Johnson Europe B.V., starch water system by ADPAP, Finland, dewatering ceramic tops and EVA vacuum control system from IBS and maglev pumps from  Shandong Tianrui, China. 

The supply of effluent treatment plant, boiler system and turbine generators is currently under discussion with the leading suppliers and will be finalised shortly. The new mill will cater to FMCG, e-commerce and durable goods manufacturers.

The company aims to develop high-quality kraft papers and plaster boards, expecting a growth rate of 7-8% in BF Kraft. The mill will solidify its position in the local market and even plan for export at a later stage.
