The company is actively involved in the secondary fiber business, dealing with approximately 4,00,000 MT of paper waste from the Middle East, America, and Europe. In a recent interview with Paper Mart, Mr. Saifee Jani and Mr. Abiali Jani, Directors, Jani Sales Private Limited, shared insights into Jani’s journey, spanning 44 years.
PM: Tell us about Jani Sales’ journey.
Abiali Jani: From its origins as a trading company, Jani transitioned into specialized grades of packaging, with a strong focus on the Middle East market. The company represents major mills in India and actively engages in the secondary fiber business, exporting substantial quantities of paper boards and kraft from India.
PM: Please share about your bold step forward of announcing the PM2 tissue line.
AJ: Adding another dimension to our endeavors, Jani Sales recently announced the installation of PM2, a cutting-edge tissue line set to commence operations in Q3 2024. This significant move underscores Jani’s commitment to meeting the increasing global demand for high-quality tissues. The company has already established a robust presence in the Middle East, Europe, and Canada.
PM: Talk about your technical marvel of PM1 and its market impact.
AJ: Talking on the technical capabilities of PM1, it is a state-of-the-art machine from the Italian company Toscotec. The machine produces MG kraft, MG poster, and MG tissue, with a unique emphasis on lower GSM papers targeting the paper bag industry. Particularly post-covid, Jani experienced a surge in demand from the E-Commerce industry, replacing plastic with their eco-friendly paper products. The company successfully entered global markets, earning the trust of major brands such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, IKEA, and Carrefour.
The technical team’s expertise allows Jani to produce a vast GSM range from 18 to 100, making us a significant player in the MG machine production landscape. The company’s global expansion includes a strong presence in the Middle East, Europe, and Canada.

PM: Brief us about your global presence and post covid challenges.
AJ: There were a lot of challenges faced due to global restrictions post-covid, particularly the shortage of containers and disrupted trade routes. Despite these hurdles, Jani’s commitment to delivering the right product at the right time allowed us to fill the void left by major exporters like China, leading to a 60 percent increase in exports. Today, renowned global brands like Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and IKEA rely on Jani’s high-quality paper products.
PM: Discuss about your journey in the pulping sector and commitment to recycled fiber.
Saifee Jani: Jani’s 23-year presence in the secondary fiber business includes supplying waste paper to top Indian and Far East mills. The company uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure the highest quality in their pulping section, incorporating both recycled and virgin pulp. We are committed to promoting recycled fiber, emphasizing the importance of delivering consistent quality, even if it comes at a cost.
PM: Throw more light on your PM2 project and soft tissue manufacturing.
SJ: In the upcoming PM2 project, Jani Sales is set to launch a brand new tissue line, targeting a GSM range of 11.5 to 42. This 100 percent pulp-based product will include facial tissues, toilet tissue, kitchen towels, and napkins. The PM2, operational from Q3 2024, boasts a capacity of 60 tons a day and will cater to both domestic and international markets. With a strong export focus, Jani anticipates a significant production of facial grades from the PM2 project.
