Italian tissue giant Sofidel Group is expanding its U.S. operations with a new Through-Air-Dried (TAD) paper machine to boost supply capacity.

Sofidel Group has announced a major investment to strengthen its presence in the North American tissue market. The company will install a Valmet TAD paper machine with an annual capacity of 75,000 metric tons, supported by converting lines for finished products.

The new facility, set to start operations in the second quarter of 2028, will be established at one of Sofidel’s existing US sites, with the final location under discussion.
According to CEO Luigi Lazzareschi, the investment reinforces Sofidel’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market and enhances its ability to deliver premium-quality tissue products.
