SKF India (Industrial) Limited has announced an INR 653 crore investment to develop a next-generation ‘Factory of the Future’ in Pune. This digitally enabled manufacturing campus is expected to be completed by 2030, marking a significant expansion of the company’s advanced manufacturing presence in India.

The new plant will integrate digital systems and energy-efficient operations, supporting varied sectors, including energy, railways, metals and mining, and other heavy industries.
Mr. Sujeeth Pai, Director – Manufacturing Operations, for India, Southeast Asia and Middle East (ISEAM), SKF India (Industrial) Limited emphasized that the new plant will be designed as a fully digital and sustainability-embedded facility, representing a fundamental shift in how we manufacture by integrating intelligent systems, real-time insights, and energy-efficient operations to drive higher productivity, quality, and responsiveness. This is not just capacity expansion, it is about building resilient, agile, and globally competitive manufacturing capabilities anchored in India.

The new facility will consolidate existing production channels while adding new ones, and aims to deliver faster response times and deeper localisation in India.
