AquaStop™ paper, the latest innovation in the ‘Better Planet Packaging’ portfolio of Smurfit Kappa, is designed to withstand exposure to water and is also ideal for use in humid conditions.

Smurfit Kappa has developed an innovative and sustainable water-resistant paper – AquaStop™, which is part of its new TechniPaper® portfolio, comprising an array of high-performance papers. The AquaStop™ paper is water-resistant due to a special kind of coating that doesn’t compromise the recyclability and can be recycled in the same way as standard paper-based packaging.
It is the latest innovation in Smurfit Kappa’s Better Planet Packaging portfolio of products and is designed to withstand exposure to water without being damaged. In addition to being suitable for e-commerce packaging and packaging for – flowers, detergent, fruits, and vegetables where protection against water is needed, AquaStop™ is also ideal for use in humid conditions. The packaging paper remains intact in humidity, thus, it is an excellent solution for the transit of refrigerated products.
