International Paper, leading global producer of renewable fiber-based packaging, pulp and paper products, is planning to set up a greenfield state-of-the-art corrugated box plant in Waterloo, Iowa, worth USD 260 million.
As per media reports, the project, to be built near the city airport, is expected to create 90 jobs.

The facility will be established in an area spanning 900,000 square feet and will be five times larger than the existing plant. It will manufacture cardboard boxes and other materials made from corrugated fiberboard.
The new plant will be set up near the containerboard mill of International Paper, which manufactures recycled containerboard from Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) and is located at Cedar River.

International Paper is planning to start construction in 2025 and expects the plant to become operational in 2026.
