Metso will supply a containerboard production line to the Chinese Zhejiang Ji’An Paper Packet Co., Ltd. For their mill in Haiyan county, Jiaxing city, Zhejiang province. The start-up of the production line is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.
The 7.25-m-wide (wire) PM 3 will be the fastest coated board machine in the world at the design speed of 1,200 m/min. The daily production capacity will be approximately 1,900 tonnes of coated white top testliner, in the basis weight range of 130-280 g/m2, out of bleached kraft pulp, deinked pulp, mixed waste andOCC(old corrugated containers).
Metso’s delivery will include a complete containerboard machine from the 3-ply multi-Fourdrinier forming section equipped with a ValFormer top forming unit to the reel. The fully automated ValReel Pro reel features unique one-level reeling technology. The Metso automation package will comprise process, machine and quality controls.
Zhejiang Ji’An Paper Packet Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Shanghai Taison Pulp & Paper Group. Zhejiang Ji’An currently produces containerboard on two Metso-supplied machines, the PM 1 started up in 2008 and the PM 2 started up in 2006. The company’s annual production capacity is around 750,000 t/a.
