ITC Limited notified the completion of the acquisition of Century Pulp & Paper (CPP) from Aditya Birla Real Estate Limited (ABREL) to the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd and BSE Ltd on August 01, 2026. The decision marks one of the largest consolidation moves in India’s paper industry through strategic integration. The acquisition involved a slump sale on a going concern basis.

Under the transaction, the Century Pulp and Paper business has been transferred to ITC Limited in accordance with the terms of the Business Transfer Agreement. This involved ownership of the entire Century Pulp and Paper’s operational business, including its existing infrastructure, contractual relationships, liabilities, and staff, enabling continuity of operations following the transfer.
