Jussi Vanhanen will start in his new position on July 1, 2025.

Mr. Jussi Vanhanen, LLM, MBA, has been appointed as the CEO of Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, a Finnish forest industry company that produces wood products, pulp, paper and bioenergy from northern forests, replacing the use of fossil raw materials.
Mr. Vanhanen will also be the President and CEO of Metsä Group. He will start in his new position on July 1, 2025. Until June 30, 2025, the position will be held by Metsä Group’s current President and CEO Ilkka Hämälä, who will then serve special duties within the company. These duties will continue until October 23, 2025, when he retires.

Mr. Vanhanen has been a member of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors since 2022 and is already familiar with the key aspects of the company.
