South Africa-based Mpact Paper has been one of the first customers of Bellmer for shoe press. Previously, the order was for the 2nd nip while the current order is for the 1st nip. The Company has placed a repeat order for its Felixton mill. This demonstrates Mpact’s satisfaction with the existing shoe press.
Started in 1967, Mpact is the largest paper and plastics packaging manufacturer and recycling company in Southern Africa. Its integrated business model is uniquely focused on closing the loop in the plastic and paper packaging manufacturing cycle by continuously maximising value and minimising waste.
Its paper division produces recycled-based packaging and is an accredited manufacturer of industrial paper grades such as containerboards (like fruit or vegetable boxes) and cartonboards (like cereal boxes). The division comprises three mills, one in Felixton (KwaZulu-Natal), another in Piet Retief (Mpumalanga), and the third in Springs (Gauteng).
All the mills are ISO and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. This means that the environmental management systems are aligned with an internationally accepted framework and that their QMS systems ensure the manufacturing of a consistent product offering. This means that all the mills are known for their responsible management of raw materials throughout the products’ lifecycle. The Mpact Paper mills are fully equipped to produce paper reels for the packaging industry.
Mpact constantly invests in modern technology, plants, people and/or infrastructure to provide continual improvements of their offerings in the various packaging markets. With this new 1st nip shoe press, the customer aims to increase the capacity and reliability of the process. A new TurboPulper under Pope Reeler completes the order.
