Sofidel, a tissue paper manufacturer from Italy, has announced an investment of USD 200 million to expand its operations in Duluth, Minnesota, US.
As per media report, the state of Minnesota has decided to support the project with USD 5 million in business expansion funding. The expansion will create at least 160 new jobs, tripling the company’s current workforce at the location.

The company will expand its existing facility into an integrated, state-of-the-art production plant where raw materials would be processed, manufactured and packaged into finished goods such as paper towels, bath tissues and napkins.
Sofidel will also build an automated warehouse for product storage and distribution. The construction is likely to begin in late 2024 and will continue till 2026. The complete project size will be nearly 600,000 square feet.
