Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) has appointed Mr. Thiru Kumar Jayant, I.A.S., as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company after Dr. Sandeep Saxena I.A.S., ceases to be the Chairman and Managing Director of the company on retirement from service on 30th April, 2026.

He brings extensive experience to the company. Prior to this appointment as Chairman and MD, he served as Additional Chief Secretary/Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited (TIIC), and will continue to hold this position in addition to his new role.

He also held key positions in Tamil Nadu government including roles such as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Principal Secretary, Commissioner, Member Secretary, Director, Executive Director, Additional Secretary Director, District Collector, Joint Secretary, Joint Transport Commissioner, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Administrator, Additional Collector, and Assistant Collector, bringing his vast administrative and leadership experience to the company.
