Foundation stone ceremony ok Kohinoor Pulp & Paper project was held on 23.02.2011 at Matia, Distt. Goalpara, Assam by Mr. Tarun Gogoi, Honourable Chief Minister of Assam. The integrated pulp and paper mill project based on bamboo is to be executed in two phases to produce 200,000 TPA writing & printing paper with captive power generation. The company has been allotted 200 acres of land on long term lease by AIDC Ltd at IGC, Matia (Mornai), Goalpara in Assam. Work is started to install 100,000 TPA integrated pulp & paper mill to produce writing & printing paper, A4, ss maplitho etc. using bamboo as raw material. The group will also encourage social forestry by supplying saplings of Bamboo to provide employment to local populace. The company plans to complete the Phase I by first quarter of 2013, while Phase II will be completed after 2013.
