Under ‘Mukhya Mantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana’, M/s. Orient Paper and Industries Limited and ITC Limited have signed an agreement with the Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, for the supply of Nilgiri saplings (Eucalyptus clones) and Buy Back Mechanism.

M/s. Orient Paper and Industries Limited, Amlai Madhya Pradesh and ITC Limited, PSPD Bhadrachalam Andhra Pradesh have signed an agreement with Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, for the supply of Nilgiri saplings (Eucalyptus clones) and Buy Back Mechanism under ‘Mukhya Mantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana’ at the office of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Aranya Bhawan, Nava Raipur recently. The purpose is to enhance the additional income of farmers. Wood based industries are being promoted under this scheme.

Eucalyptus clones will be supplied to Bastar and Kanker forest circles by ITC Limited while Surguja and Bastar forest circles will get the clones from Orient paper mill. Chhattisgarh State Seed And Agriculture Development Corporation Limited will be responsible to supply Eucalyptus clones to Raipur and Drug forest circles. It has been targeted to plant 1,86,14,000 clonal nilgiri saplings in 22,000 acres of private land for FY 2023-24 under ‘Vriksha Sampada Yojana.’
