Orient Paper Industries Limited (OPIL) has entered into a partnership agreement with the BTG Group, which is part of global technology company Voith, to assist them with a digital transformation journey that will be rolled out in phases over the next few years.
As per a release issued by BTG Group, the project includes the implementation of BTG’s advanced instrumentation and model predictive controls across multiple unit operations, starting with OPIL’s bleach plant, lime kiln, tissue machines and a mill-wide dataPARC system.
This transformation aims to optimize manpower utilisation, reduce operational costs, and enhance productivity and quality for OPIL. The overarching objective for OPIL is to improve its performance and strengthen its competitive edge in an increasingly dynamic market.
