Wuzhou Special Paper’s PM15 successfully started packaging paper production on June 18, 2024. The overall design and integration of PM15 was done by CCL Paper Machine. The company also provided the entire two-layer forming section, top former, and dryer section, a representative from CCL reported. The machine has a wire width of 9,300 mm and a reel width of 8,660 mm, with a design speed of 1,300 m/min, operating at a speed of 1,200 m/min. The machine primarily produces 90-180 GSM packaging paper, with an annual production capacity of approximately 450,000 tons.
The project is located in Hubei, China, with a total investment of USD 2.38 billion (17.3 billion yuan). It will build 21 main pulp and paper production lines, as well as supporting facilities such as a water supply station, wastewater treatment plant, alkali recovery, solid waste furnace, and power center. Upon completion, it can achieve an annual output value of over USD 1.3 billion (10 billion yuan).
“We now have the capability to produce 10-meter-wide products, and this project is an excellent validation of that,” said the CCL representative.
