Asian Paper 2014, which has become famous for its unparalleled networking opportunity, wide variety of pulp, paper and board exhibits and highly informative conferences, was held from 23-25 April 2014 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Bangkok, Thailand.
The 12th edition of Asian Paper has consolidated its position as the largest premier event in ASEAN for pulp, paper and board industry. Several satisfied exhibitors and visitors were quick to crown Asian Paper with success and expressed their anticipation for the next Asian Paper fair.
Organised by UBM Media (Singapore) Pte Ltd, a UBM Asia company, this biennial anchor event brings together a formidable gathering of experts and professionals from paper, pulp, and board industry; and showcases the full spectrum of paper-making processes. The Organiser of Asian Paper also took this marquee pulp, paper and board event to launch its new edition of Asian Paper, slated to be at Jakarta International Expo, Indonesia, from 28 to 30 April 2015. On-site feedback for this new edition was excellent, as more than half of the exhibitors have either already signed contracts for 2015, or taken options to do so.
Amazingly, the adverse political situation in Thailand and the state of emergency declared a few months before the event could not dampen the enthusiasm emanating from the exhibition halls. This highly charged event, which saw the participation of 163 international and domestic exhibitors from 25 countries, covered a total gross exhibition area of 4,656 square meters. This successful event also saw 3,968 visitors from 67 countries, with the top ten visitor countries – Thailand, India, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Japan and South Korea – doing business and networking during the three-day show.
Not only the exhibition, but also the Senior Management Symposium (SMS) and New Applied Technology (NAT) Conference received positive feedback from most of the visitors, exhibitors and participants. The 2014 conference theme: “Think Global, Act Asia, the Sustainable Way Forward” was aptly covered and discussed, reflecting the industry’s environment and sentiments towards sustainability.
It may be mentioned that the SMS that is held in conjunction with the exhibition is a strategic conference platform dedicated to delivering the latest in industry outlook, consumer and purchasing trends, development in process and energy-saving technology, optimisation of cost and quality to achieve scalable businesses. It is a unique gathering of industry leaders from publishing industries, paper product manufacturers, pulp and paper producers as well as raw material, equipment and chemical suppliers. The conferences held this year witnessed over 80 senior management and technical delegates speaking and listening and networking. The topics shared and discussed included the latest market outlook, industry trends, applications of nanotechnology in paper manufacturing, cost optimisation strategies and so on.
The next Asian Paper in Thailand is scheduled from 25 to 27 May 2016 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
