Crossroads Paper Plans USD 320 Million Mill, to use Only Recycled Fiber

The company aims to cut back on water use in additional to using only recycled materials.

Crossroads Paper has announced its plans to construct a USD 320 million recycled paper mill in Utah, which is expected to open in early 2022.

The 80-acre plant is expected to produce 1000 TPD and will depend solely on 100 percent recycled fiber like cardboard boxes and existing waste paper.

The output from the plant will be used to make new boxes for manufacturers, farmers and e-commerce companies.

Project developer Ron Sasine says, “The facility plans to use about 10 percent of the water that mills usually use to make paper. A site for the mill has not yet been selected. However, the company is looking at locations in the Salt Lake City area.
