The Middle East Paper Manufacturing and Production Corporation (MEPCO) has laid the foundation stone for its fifth production line (PM5). It is one of the largest kinds in the Middle East. The project will be supervised by a wholly owned subsidiary of MEPCO, Al Tadweer Al Akhdar Industrial Corporation.

The new PM5 line will increase MEPCO’s total production capacity from 425,000 tonnes to 875,000 tonnes annually, doubling its total capacity. It will produce high-quality and lightweight paper using energy-efficient technologies at lower operational expenses. The new line will convert an additional 500,000 tonnes of waste paper annually.

The facility will use recycled paper as its primary raw material. With a total investment of approximately USD 47.4 million (SAR 1.78 billion), PM5 will have an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes.
