The facility was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 in Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) has developed a state-of-the-art facility with an investment of INR 350 crore. The investment marks a significant milestone in TNPL’s diversification into the tissue paper segment, strengthening its commitment to innovation, value-added manufacturing and sustainable growth.

The new facility will manufacture tissue paper grades ranging from 13 GSM to 40 GSM, primarily using high-quality in-house hardwood pulp. The tissue products will be marketed under LUMEA, enabling TNPL to extend its established expertise in paper manufacturing into the tissue paper segment. The facility will cater to the growing demand for tissue paper and everyday hygiene and tissue applications.
