The Indonesian paper producer Pt. Mega Surya Eratama has assigned Voith to deliver the complete BlueLine stock preparation and paper machine key components for a new packaging production line at their Mojokerto paper mill in East Java.

Voith has signed the contract with Pt. Mega Surya Eratama for the conversion of the Hallsta PM 3 to a state-of-the-art packaging production line at the Mojokerto paper mill in East Java, Indonesia. The scope of supply consists of a complete VOITH BlueLine Stock preparation of 1500 TPD and key technology components of the Paper Machine and reflects Voith’s Full-line supplier approach.
The new packaging production line at the Mojokerto paper mill will produce 350,000 tonnes of testliner and corrugated medium per year. With a paper on reel width of 6,660 mm and a maximum production speed of 1,300 m/min, the PM 2 will be the most productive and advanced line of its kind in Indonesia. The start-up after conversion of the paper machine is scheduled for the end of 2021.
Voith’s scope of delivery comprises a complete BlueLine stock preparation for 1,500 tons per day of raw material for the paper machine. Product highlights of the OCC stock preparation include the biggest sized IntensaDrum for energy efficient pulping, the leading dewatering technology InfiltraDiscfilter with BaglessPlus Discs and a Compact Dispersion System. Besides, Voith will also deliver a new approach flow system to feed the paper machine.
The main scope of supply of the conversion of the paper machine will include a new MasterJet Pro G2 Headbox with advanced features and a rebuild of the forming section to Voith DuoFomer CBh forming concept. The innovative CBh forming concept is running already very successfully for the same application and it now will be the first in use in Asia. A new DuoCentri NipcoFlex shoe press and the all-new SpeedSizer AT film press will complete the high-technology key component deliveries to enable the customer to produce highest paper quality with best operational reliability.
The new production line will complete the packaging and box production portfolio of the privately owned company Pt. Mega Surya Eratama. The company operates a Boxboard production line and several printers at the same location, and at other locations in Indonesia further printers. With the new packaging production line from Voith, the company now will be able to cover additional process steps in the packaging production line which will enable him to be an even more important player in the local and regional packaging business in the near future.
