Paques Group Commences Work on Rs. 30-cr plant at Sri City

The Netherlands-based Paques Group, a green energy company specialising in harnessing industrial waste water through treating biological waste, has commenced work on its plant at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. The company, which started its wholly-owned subsidiary, Paques Environmental Technology India in Chennai, is now establishing a manufacturing base at Sri City.

Marking the start of construction, Suba Ganesan, Controller of the company, along with other senior officials broke the ground and laid the foundation stone at Sri City on Friday.

The plant, which will be built on a 2-acre plot with an investment of Rs. 30 crore during the initial phase, will be commissioned by this July. The factory would provide employment opportunity for about 75 people. The unit will manufacture reactors for waste water treatment and gas treat.

Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, in a statement said, “Paques renowned for green energy is developing cost-effective purification systems for water and gases. Wastewater reuse not only conserves water, but also protects water resources from shrinking, prevents water tables from dropping, and protects waterways from becoming polluted. In view of the need for such equipment, the innovative products of Paques will surely have a huge demand in Indian market too.”

Paques has more than 1,800 installations in 60 countries across different industries. It helps companies and municipalities to reduce their fresh water intake, decrease their carbon footprints and reclaim valuable resources from waste.

Paques does this by developing ingenious anaerobic water purification systems that produce energy from wastewater, whilst purifying the water and facilitating water reuse. The biogas produced in the purifying process is a source of green energy, a field of emerging interest worldwide.
